This website and the podcast have been quiet the past few months.  Here is what we have been doing.  A year ago, we bought a house that needed a complete renovation to live in.  It has been a busy year for us.  Instead of hiring an architect and builder to design, plan, and build everything for us, we did much of it ourselves.  With the help of Katie’s brother Chris, a carpenter, we designed the vision for the facelift of our 1960 coastal beach house.

As General Manager of a building supply company, I got on the other side of the counter as a customer.  Kate sourced tradesman.  I worked quotes with Katie.  We did product selection and planning ourselves.  Chris at MacGregor Carpentry gave us excellent technical advisory.  Three weeks ago we moved in.  I have been commuting two hours one way each day to work for three years.  It was the most gruelling exercise of my life.  I started having health issues from the daily drive, including a gall bladder full of stones and decreased blood circulation from sitting.

I am thankful to turn the page and begin a new season of life as a homeowner in the Palm Beach suburb of Sydney.  I am restarting up my book writing, blogging, podcasting, webinars, and consulting!  I look forward to getting the conversation going again before our third child is born in February.  Having kids is easy compared to renovating a house!!!
